[. . .] The celebration will be from 5:00 to 7:00pm in the inner courtyard of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico (MAC) in Santurce. It will be a space to remember his invaluable dedication to writing, critical thinking, his students, and engaged discussions.

Félix Jiménez was a prolific author whose works have left an indelible mark not only in the literary field, but also among his colleagues, readers, and friends. His work was prominent in renowned publications such as The Village Voice, The Nation, and The Washington Post in the United States, as well as in local newspapers such as El Mundo and El Nuevo Día, and in the journal 80 Grados. In addition, his work as a producer at CNN and his dedication as a professor of Cultural Studies at the University of the Sacred Heart [Universidad del Sagrado Corazón], as well as his role as a visiting professor at Columbia University in New York, reflect his commitment to education and the dissemination of knowledge.

Among his most recognized works are Las prácticas de la carne: construcción y representación de las masculinidades puertorriqueñas; La cultura material del deseo: objetos, desplazamientos, subversiones; Audioeuforia; Vieques and the Press: The Fragmented Idyll; and the poetry collection Serenos, semejantes. His literary legacy continues to inspire new generations of writers and academics. [. . .]
