It’s almost time to say goodbye to Modern Warfare 3, but not before some serious scaries.

The Haunting is back as part of MW3’s season six, bringing new and scary content to MW3, Warzone, and MW Zombies. New guns, maps, and more are part of the frightening fun until Black Ops 6 comes out at the end of October, so read on below to see what’s coming in MW3’s last hurrah.

Season six will be the final season of MW3 before the calendar turns toward Black Ops 6, which will launch just before Halloween on Oct. 25. But MW3 still has a bit of scares left in it until then.

Weapon balancing

Like all seasonal updates, season six of MW3 includes weapon changes that could really shake things up.

The biggest change in the update for season six is a hefty nerf to the STG 44, which had its damage ranges decreased so that it is no longer capable of a three-shot kill at max range.

Several MW2 assault rifles got buffed, however, including the M4, Chimera, Tempus Razorback, M13C, and TR-76 Geist. And for SMGs, the Static-HV and Superi 46 received nerfs while the ISO 45, ISO 9mm, PDSW 528, Fennec 45, BAS-P, and Vaznev-9K from MW2 all got buffed.

For the full list of weapon changes, check out the CoD website.

The Haunting is here

CoD’s most popular seasonal event, The Haunting returns for MW3 to spook you and your squad one final time. Along with Michael Myers in the season pass, The Haunting brings special modes, skins, and more to the fright fest.

Two new guns

Season six adds two new guns, the DTIR 30-06 battle rifle and Kastov LSW LMG, which is pictured above. The battle rifle is described as “slow-firing and hard-hitting,” while the LMG has been “crafted to tear enemies through at short to medium range” using Tac Stance, according to Activision.

Both can be unlocked for free in the season six battle pass.

One new map and a bunch of Shipment

Only one new map is coming in season six. Drive Thru is a small-sized map built for six-vs-six gameplay, set at a killer clown-themed restaurant named Funny’s.

And I hope you like Shipment because season six adds five different variants of the classic small map: Arena Shipment, Stay High, Bit-ment, Ghost Ship, and Sunny Shipment. It’s the same map but with a different aesthetic for each.

Hordepoint returns

Hordepoint is back in MW3 for one last go-round. This is the Zombie-infested spin on Hardpoint where undead spawn and allow you to mow them down for kills while also worrying about the enemy team as you capture objectives.

Even more modes

Arcade, Mutation, and Infected will all be available during season six, along with a new season of Ranked Play with its own unique rewards and skill ratings chase.

Spooky collab skins

Along with Michael Myers, several other scary skins are coming in season six’s store offerings. Bundles include Art the Clown from Terrorizer, Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead, spooky-smiley versions of Makarov and Valeria inspired by Smile 2, and several characters from the movie Trick r’ Treat.

Limited-time events and unlocks
