A New York woman, Aura Moody, is suing the New York Mets for $2 million, claiming she was denied entry into Citi Field for wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, according to a report from the New York Post.

Moody, attending an August 14 Mets game with fellow members of the Queens Village Republican Club, was reportedly told by a staff member that her MAGA hat was “too political” and couldn’t be worn in the stadium.

Despite her objections citing First Amendment rights, she was forced to return the hat to her car.

Moody claims racial discrimination and political retaliation after noticing that White members of her group were allowed to wear MAGA gear inside the stadium. She accuses the Mets of reputational harm in her lawsuit.

While the Mets haven’t responded to Fox News Digital, they previously stated the employee was “mistaken” about the stadium’s attire policy. They also indicated they would apologize to Moody and invite her back to Citi Field.

This incident follows a similar occurrence earlier in the week when the Arizona Cardinals apologized to a woman told to remove her MAGA hat at State Farm Stadium, citing a misunderstanding of their policy.
