Welcome to the Bible in 60 Seconds using A.I. to imagine and create all the art.

The Old Testament led up to the coming Messiah but the fulfillment of that prophecy took longer than many expected. It was 400 years people had waited from the Old Testament to the book of Matthew. This is a good parable in our own lives. To remember that God works on HIS timeframes and not on ours.

The genealogy list in Matthew 1-17 is the very fulfillment of what the Jewish people had waited 400 years to hear.

In verse 17 it states 42 generations between Abraham and Jesus. One note here is that there are actually 41 unique names listed. 42 total names is because Matthew mentions David twice. This is because he’s using what’s called a Nuh Maa Nik method to break down the genealogy. Which simply means he’s making it easy to remember. 3 distinct time periods and David just so happened to fit neatly into 2 of those time periods and therefore is listed twice.

And we’re out of time!
