A pilot and passenger were arrested after their single-engine Piper PA-28 plane made an emergency landing on Highway 76 near Oceanside, California this week.
The pilot reported engine failure, forcing the landing at around 2:00 a.m. When authorities arrived, they searched the plane and discovered 2.2 pounds of cocaine onboard. Both individuals were taken into custody following the discovery of the narcotics.
The incident is under investigation by law enforcement.
