A man rescued an older woman from raging floodwaters in North Carolina.
The man, Eddie Hunnell, rescued Leslie Worth after a river swept her away.
Hunnell jumped into the water to save the woman and pulled her to safety. Both were wearing life vests.
Several other videos and stories of rescue efforts have emerged.
According to Ryan Fournier, chairman of Students for Trump, a North Carolina resident hiked 11 miles to “rescue his parents following Hurricane Helene’s destruction in Western NC.”
Private helicopters have also made food and supply drops in North Carolina.
