A report from The Times of London revealed that migrants will continue living in U.K. hotels for up to three more years.

There are nearly 30,000 migrants living in more than 250 hotels, costing taxpayers £4.2 million per day, the outlet reported.

The number is down from its high of 56,042 migrants in 398 hotels as of September last year.

The announcement that it will take three years to move the migrants out of the hotels comes as the Labour Party promised that it would “end asylum hotels, saving the taxpayer billions of pounds.”

There are currently 87,217 asylum claims from migrants on top of 137,525 pending cases.

A Whitehall source told the outlet that the backlog is “much worse than we thought,” adding, “It’s going to take a lot longer to clear than we anticipated. It certainly won’t be cleared in a year.”

GBN News presenter Darren Grimes criticized the migrant hotels, writing on social media, “We don’t have enough in the coffers for Britain’s pensioners but we’ve got plenty to go around for those with absolutely no right to be here.”

Reform U.K. politician and Member of Parliament for Great Yarmouth Rupert Lowe said of the migrant accommodations, “The taxpayer is funding the hotel accommodation of 30,000 illegal migrants. We don’t know who they are, where they have come from, or what their real motives actually are.”

“I don’t want these people in our country, do you?” he asked.” Nobody here illegally should be allowed to stay.”
