On Saturday, The LEGO Group honored its collaborations with musician, designer, and director Pharrell Williams. It celebrated its Over the Moon set and this Friday’s release of Piece By Piece, a Williams biopic illustrated with LEGO animation.

LEGO’s Over the Moon set is in stores and online now. The 966-piece set features a black and gold space shuttle and an abacus made of 49 minifigure heads, 30 of which were designed for this particular set. With Williams’s “My Phriends” abacus, LEGO builders can bring anyone along for a space-age ride and envision themselves aboard the rocket ship. The space shuttle symbolizes one’s limitless potential; its colorful jet stream symbolizes the imagination, creativity, and power of play synonymous with LEGO.

The interactive experience included a station for attendees to build their own space shuttles and stations. They also had the opportunity to custom-design T-shirts to take home.

Piece by Piece debuts in theaters Friday. On Saturday, Williams and director Morgan Neville discussed the film in anticipation of its release. “If this can happen for me, I want all the kids out there just to imagine what they can do too,” Williams said.

Seeing the film through the lens of LEGO animation, we were able to tell a universal story. The reaction we are getting to the film is that a lot of people are walking away feeling inspired, and that they can do and be anything they want to be. I love that.”
