As previously reported, this season’s trailer teased Dr. Contessa Metcalfe’s return, introduced newbie Dr. Mimi Sanders, and featured an appearance from Phaedra’s ex, Apollo Nida.

According to Dr. Jackie, however, that’s just a small taste of what’s in store.

“Get yourself some popcorn and some medication. Honey, you’re gonna need it!” she told BOSSIP’s Managing Editor Dani Canada after noting that the cast is juggling “new fights, new homes, and grown kids.”

The OBGYN hinted that Married To Medicine watchers might need to pick up a prescription in particular when the episode airs showcasing Ms. Quad’s ex Dr. G, who’s married to Lateasha “Sweet Tea” Lunceford, battling with Quad’s new boyfriend, King.

“The explosive reunion we ended with is right where we picked up,” Dr. Jackie revealed. “The drama didn’t cool down at all. You have never seen exes this close together on any reality TV show. Can you imagine putting the four of them together? Honey, it was like a cyclone down there in the Keys,” she added. “We disrupted the waters!”

She continued,

“We didn’t expect it though. You know, the thing about Married To Medicine, our honest truth is we don’t have to create storylines. You know, people [always] talk about a storyline. One, we’re friends for 12 months out of the year and we know what’s going on in each other’s lives. And so when we come to the camera, come back to filming, we just pick up where we left off,” she added.

“You think [last season’s cast trip] to Hilton head was hot? Honey, it was not the temperature that made it hot in the Keys. It was Married To Medicine!”

Despite bringing drama to Florida, Dr. Jackie made sure to emphasize that the cast, consisting of doctors and doctors’ wives, always gives back, and they did so again at her MED Gala.

This time, Dr. Jackie received additional assistance to bring the second annual affair to life.

“I had a co-chair and a co-co-chair!” said Dr. Jackie. “We wanted to give back in a big, big way, an we invited other doctors and nurses and any medical professional out. We even invited some of the lawyer side of town because we had Phaedra [Parks] involved. So we invited them out, but to get them to come together and dress up, because you see us and scrubs most of the time. But at the MED Gala, there was a theme to it and there was a mission. And what we wanted to do this year is to give back in a big, big way.”

Part of that “big, big way” also included auctioning off some of the ladies for charity.

“Can you imagine auctioning off “Cooking With Quad”?” said Dr. Jackie with a laugh.
