After teasing it at New York Comic Con a few months ago, Sony has released the first full trailer for the latest instalment in the Karate Kid universe, and it’s time to meet… well, a new kid who does karate.

That kid is Li Fong (played by Ben Wang), who finds himself pushed and pulled between the worlds of two Karate Kid legends in their own rights in Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso, who of course starred in the original film, and Jackie Chan’s Mr. Han, from the 2010 reboot The Karate Kid.

Little else is currently known about the film, other than it will seemingly see LaRusso and Han come together to foster Li’s training in New York City. There’s still no word on just how the film will connect to the events of Cobra Kai, if at all, but considering its setting, it’s perhaps going to leave any kind of connection to a light touch rather than a major part of the narrative.

Karate Kid: Legends, which also stars Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Ming-Na Wen, is set to hit theaters May 30, 2025.
