Chelsea have scored four first half goals in a rampant first half against Shamrock Rovers with Marc Guiu scoring a hat-trick.

It’s took the Blues just over 20 minutes to make the breakthrough, but they dominated the opening proceedings against their Irish counterparts.

The Blues have dominated possession with Tyrique George looking threatening and Christopher Nkunku looking dangerous in possession.

Shamrock had defended well in the opening exchanges but it was a defensive mistake that let them down after Renato Veiga played a ball over the top and Burns tried to head it back to his goalkeeper but he gets it all wrong.

The ball ends up looping over Pohls and Guiu has the simple task of firing the ball into the empty net and he’s unlikely to score many easier goals in his career.

Guiu has now scored four goals in four Conference League games and he follows up his two goals against Astana with another one here.

Shamrock Rovers equalise

Chelsea’s joy was short lived and Shamrock have hit back just three minutes later through Markus Poom as his deflected strike left Filip Jorgensen with no chance in the Chelsea goal.

It’s been an energetic contest and the Shamrock players have worked really hard and have chosen their moments well in this first half when they have got forward.

This is now an interesting test for Chelsea and it will be interesting to see how the blues respond, but you would still fancy the Blues to have more than enough.

Guiu fires Chelsea ahead again

This game is full of action and Shamrock will be kicking themselves, it’s Guiu again and he’s alert and seizes on another defensive mistake as he intercepts a short back pass, takes the ball round the keeper and fires it into the empty net.

Chelsea could get more goals if Shamrock continue defending like this and Guiu looks like he could get a hat-trick tonight.

Dewsbury-Hall extends Chelsea’s lead

Chelsea seem intent on putting this game to bed and have Shamrock seem to have collapsed here after getting back into the game.

Dewsbury-Hall is the scorer after good work from Nkunku and the midfielder has his second goal for the club after firing into the back of the net from inside the box, after it looked like the France international was going to score.

Guiu completes hat-trick

Chelsea have their fourth in added time at the end of the first half and it’s that man Guiu again who completes his hat-trick.

It’s a great header from the centre forward from Noni Madueke’s cross and the teenager has had a brilliant half for the Blues and will fancy adding to his goal tally in the second half.
