LG Electronics has launched the 77-inch LG SIGNATURE OLED T, the world’s first transparent OLED TV with True Wireless Video & Audio Transfer, in the U.S. Priced at $59,999, it is available through select retailers and LG’s website, with availability in additional markets to follow. The LG OLED T, unveiled at CES 2024, has garnered accolades including the CES “Best of Innovation” award and TIME’s “Best Inventions of 2024.”
This innovative TV features a self-lit screen capable of transitioning between transparent and opaque modes, enhancing both entertainment and interior design possibilities. In transparent mode, content appears to float in mid-air, blending seamlessly with the surrounding space.
Additional features include the T-Objet Always-On-Display (AOD) mode, which showcases digital artwork or photos, and the T-Bar, an info-ticker that displays updates like weather or sports scores while leaving the rest of the screen unused. The T-Home interface ensures easy access to apps and settings.
The transparent 4K OLED screen also optimizes space, as it can be centrally positioned or placed in front of windows without obstructing natural light or views. LG’s proprietary Zero Connect Box enables latency-free wireless video and audio transmission, supporting 4K resolution at 120Hz with NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium certifications, ensuring a smooth gaming experience. The TV is powered by LG’s α11 AI processor, which enhances picture and sound quality.
It seems that transparent screens are slowly becoming a trend—Let’s not forget about Lenovo’s ThinkBook Concept that was shown at MWC 2024 and turned hundreds of heads. We’re excited to see the future possibilities coming not only from LG and Lenovo but also from other brands. Good times to be a tech enthusiast, right?!
