WE REAP WHAT WE SOW
“Crimes often return to their teacher.”
—SENECA
Seneca’s role as a mentor to Emperor Nero earned him the label *tyrannodidaskalos*—”tyrant teacher”—as it seemed ironic for a philosopher to counsel such a corrupt figure. Despite Seneca’s moral influence, his guidance ultimately led to betrayal, with Nero ordering his death. This serves as a caution: the people you associate with can reflect back on you. Teaching unethical behavior, setting bad examples, or aligning with questionable characters may bring harm back to you, illustrating the timeless notion of karma. Seneca paid a high price for his choices, and so might we.
