During the TNA Wrestling tapings after Bound for Glory on October 27, Chris Bey suffered a serious neck injury near the end of a tag team match, which worried many fans. It has been several months since he suffered that injury and now Bey has revealed that he is finally able to walk again, making a breakthrough in his recovery journey.
Chris Bey took to Twitter and uploaded a video of himself finally being able to walk after his neck injury. Bey noted that he turned 29 and said he was grateful to be alive. He talked about the serious injury he got on October 27, 2024, at a TNA event in Detroit. He was in the ring with his partner Ace Austin and his idols The Hardys, when everything changed.
During the match, he tried to stand up but couldn’t move. He was paralyzed in the middle of the ring. He felt ashamed, embarrassed, and scared. Thankfully, TNA’s ringside doctor and medical team acted fast. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors performed surgery to fuse his neck at C6-C7 and his spinal cord at C6-T1. He believes that if it weren’t for TNA’s quick response, he might not be here today.

“On October 27th, 2024, I suffered a life-altering injury in Detroit at a TNA event while sharing the ring with my partner, Ace Austin, and some of my idols, The Hardys. This was the scariest moment of my life. I tried to get up and finish the match, only to realize I couldn’t move. I was laid out, paralyzed in the middle of the ring. I felt ashamed for not being able to finish the match, embarrassed, and terrified.”
“Thanks to our incredible ringside doctor and the team at TNA, I was rushed to a nearby hospital and quickly underwent surgery to fuse my neck at C6-C7, along with a spinal cord fusion at C6-T1. If it weren’t for TNA and their quick response, I might not be here today. They have been so supportive throughout this entire journey.”
The next day, Bey woke up surrounded by love and support from his family and the wrestling community. But he was also devastated. His lifelong dream and eight-year wrestling career seemed over.
Doctors told him there was only a 10-25% chance he would ever walk again. He had no use of his hands, which was why he couldn’t post or respond to messages. He spent a week in the ICU, then 50 days in a rehab facility in Detroit, doing therapy six days a week for hours each day. On December 28th, he was finally able to go home.
“When I woke up the next day, I was overwhelmed by the love surrounding me and the outpouring of support from the wrestling community. But I was also devastated by the thought that my lifelong dream and eight-year wrestling career might be over. I lay there, paralyzed from the neck down, with no promise of ever walking again. Doctors told me it wasn’t likely—just a 10-25% chance. I had no use of my hands, which made it impossible for me to post or respond to anything.”

Since then, he has been working hard in therapy, supported by his family, his TNA family, and the medical staff who helped him. He is especially grateful to his brother Ace Austin, who never left his side, and his girlfriend Brittnie Brooks for supporting him through his lowest moments.
The TNA star thanked everyone who reached out, donated, bought his merch, prayed for him, or even just thought about him. Their support kept him going, even on the hardest days. He believes he has lived his dream and inspired others to chase theirs.
“Since then, I’ve been in therapy, working as hard as I can. I’ve had an incredible support system. There are so many people I want to thank, but if I had to narrow it down, I must thank my family, my TNA family, the dedicated staff in Detroit, my brother Ace Austin for never leaving my side, and my amazing girlfriend, Brittnie Brooks, for being there every step of the way while I was at my lowest.”
“If you’ve reached out, donated, bought merch, said a prayer, or even just shared a thought about me—thank you. I am eternally grateful for every single one of you. Because of you, even on my hardest days, I never gave up. Because of you, I’ve lived my dream and, in my opinion, helped inspire others to do the same. At the moment, Chris Bey is celebrating life and making progress. For the past three weeks, Bey has been out of his wheelchair, learning to walk again. He believes nothing is impossible with hard work and faith.
Bey doesn’t know if he will ever wrestle again, but he refuses to say never. Right now, his focus is on healing, as he is still in pain. It will be a long journey, but he is determined to keep going.
“Today, you see me celebrating life and taking the steps they said would be unlikely. For three weeks, I’ve been out of my wheelchair, learning to walk again. Nothing is impossible—you just have to believe and do the work. I thank God every second. I thank you every second.
Will I ever wrestle again? Never say never. I’m just so grateful to be alive. I don’t know what my purpose is, but I know there’s something meant for me to do. For now, I just hope to continue healing, as my body is still in a lot of pain. It’s going to be a long road, but I will not give up. This will be the Greatest Story Ever Told. I love you all.”
This is obviously incredible news for Chris Bey’s fans as it’s clear he will not be giving up no matter what, as he is taking his time and making sure he will eventually make his way back to the ring. Chris Bey’s strength and attitude during this incredibly hard time are truly inspiring. His wrestling future is still unclear, but his determination shows that he can overcome anything. Therefore, we’ll have to see what will become of Bey in the end.
