A Michigan mother has been arrested after abandoning her three children for what authorities believe has been four years. A 15-year-old boy and his two sisters, ages 12 and 13, were reportedly found abandoned in a house in Pontiac on February 14.
The trio had been deprived of foot and living in filth. Additionally, the discovery was only made after the family’s landlord called for a welfare check. Per PEOPLE, the landlord hadn’t received rent payments for the home since October 2024.
Now, investigators are wondering how no one noticed the neglect sooner.
What will happen next, and who will also be held accountable?
Well, The Shade Room’s Justin Carter is delving into it all on ‘TSR Investigates.’
More Details On The Kids Abandoned In Horrific Conditions For Four Years
According to Carter, the Michigan mother reportedly left her kids in the home bombarded with trash, feces, and mold since 2021. Furthermore, the kids appeared to have no access to running water or functioning bathrooms and had not attended school since that time.
Per Carter, investigators had to use HAZMAT gear to process the entire scene for evidence. The children reportedly told authorities they passed the time watching TV and playing games. As for their mother, they apparently only saw her when she arrived once a week to drop off prepared food on the porch.
