There’s a new Disney game lurking in the shadows, and it’s unstoppable – and fast.
Storytellers and board game-loving families will be pleased with Disney Villainous Unstoppable!, Ravenburger’s upcoming sequel to Villainous. This game has a shared gameplay board for the first time.
Released to the toy aisle in 2018, Villainous features asymmetrical gameplay that is ready to play out of the box. The series includes 14 titles, featuring stories from the Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel universes.
In the new game, designed for players ages 7 and up, Disney fans first choose from a cast of iconic Villains: Hades (Hercules), Ursula (The Little Mermaid), Scar (The Lion King), or Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty). All players must collect four tokens to complete their character’s evil plan, retelling Disney stories from the villain’s point of view. The first player to complete their evil plan, despite the meddling of Disney heroes, wins.
For families with a taste for competition, they can look forward to Villainous tournaments this year at Gen Con in Indianapolis and PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia, plus additional events in France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, and Australia. Later this year, Ravensburger plans to introduce a yet-to-be-named live-action Disney Villain in its own Villainous game (and a new Star Wars Villainous board game).
