Dam, Paducah, Olmsted Lock and Dam, and Cairo.

.Recent heavy rain has caused minor to moderate flooding along the
Ohio River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.

* WHERE...Ohio River at Paducah.

* IMPACTS...At 43.0 feet, Moderate flooding occurs affecting several
small unprotected towns.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 8:00 PM CST Wednesday the stage was 43.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is cresting now and will begin to fall
on Thursday. It will then fall below flood stage Friday,
February 28.
- Flood stage is 39.0 feet.

EST/ THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills only increasing to near or below zero
today falling to 8 to 14 below tonight.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, southwest Indiana, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 10 AM CST /11 AM EST/ Thursday.

* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 8 to 14 below zero could
result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
