Time to roundup some of the latest general bits of Chelsea news from late on Thursday evening ahead of the weekend’s matches.
The Blues had a terrible January transfer window and after that, form has also been really bad. They only managed to really just get a few loan moves out in January.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea’s Sporting Directors now UNDER PRESSURE after January transfer window!
Joao Felix was one of the players who went out on loan to join AC Milan and despite a good start there, he has not had a good review in the last couple of games.
One player who is getting rave reviews though is versatile defender and midfielder Rentao Veiga, who joined Juventus on loan last month so he could play as a centre back. He is having a superb time there right now, and Juventus fans are urging their club to buy him on a permanent deal come the end of this season when his loan is up.
And now they are suffering even more because they have been hit with injuries.
Madueke latest injury
Winger Noni Madueke is now out injured until after the international break, according to Matt Law of The Telegraph. This means he will miss the next four games for Chelsea – not good news at all.
Add that to Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu, who are also out injured for the long-term.
Conference League fate
In other news, Chelsea have been drawn against either FC Copenhagen or Real Betis in the last 16 of the conference league.
I’d imagine that the club will not be too upset with that draw and really, they should be breezing past either one of those teams as they look to try and win some silverware. They are favourites to win this trophy.
