Ranjana Adhikari, a technology, media and entertainment-focused partner at Indian law firm IndusLaw is expected to join Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. as a partner in Mumbai, sources with knowledge of the move tell ALB.
Adhikari has over 17 years of experience in media, entertainment, gaming, intellectual property, and technology law. Her practice spans complex cross-border transactions, including structuring joint ventures, technology collaborations, international commercial contracts, and licensing agreements.
With a specialization in new-media advisory, Adhikari has deep experience working with broadcasting, digital rights, social media platforms, and film companies. Her expertise includes drafting content licensing agreements, production deals, brand endorsement arrangements, and music licensing strategies.
Prior to joining IndusLaw as a partner in 2021, Adhikari co-headed the media & entertainment and gaming practice groups at Nishith Desai Associates in Mumbai. She was also a senior leader in the technology media and telecom practice group.
Neither Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co nor Adhikari have commented on the move at this time.
Adhikari will be SAM’s third lateral partner hire in 2025, following the addition of former Mensa Brands GC Anant Dang in Bengaluru last week, and corporate partner CV Srikant in Delhi NCR at the beginning of the year.
