On March 18, 2025 a contract for ammunition and weapons was signed by PNH and a State Department authorized corporation, founded in 1946. It is the only one with Export Permits allowing shipment of ammunition and weapons to Haiti and has been doing this since 2019.
Now, the contract is being blocked by Haiti’s Court of Superior Accounts as they demand a financial statement and bank guarantee from the corporation, although this has never been required since 2019.
It is like asking the Ford Motor Company, IBM, APPLE of General Motors for a financial statement if you are gong to buy a few million dollars of their equipment. Haiti can order a Dunn & Bradstreet Report, like everyone else does, should they require this.
Perhaps, it is just the Haitian way of looking for a BRIBE!!!
American embassy might consider cancelling VISAS for all those involved, plus their families. This is where SANCTIONS should be focused.
