In a constantly evolving sporting world, the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) resolutely pursues its mission to build a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all stakeholders in Haitian football. At the heart of this dynamic is the concept of Safeguarding, advocated by FIFA.
During the first quarter of 2025, Ms. Michelle Vanessa Gabriel Jean, FHF Safeguarding Officer, intensified her actions on the ground. Her work focused on three major areas athlete awareness, coaching, and promoting a shared code of conduct https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-44145-haiti-football-player-protection-a-priority-for-the-federation.html
She notably accompanied the U-17 girls, U-20 girls, and U-17 boys national teams, conducting awareness sessions on their rights, responsibilities, and expected behavior. These sessions helped develop a greater awareness of the issues related to the protection of minors and young adults in the football world.
At the same time, all members of the technical staff involved with these national teams were trained in the basic principles of Safeguarding. They also signed a code of conduct, committing to respecting and ensuring compliance with the ethical standards that govern the practice of football worldwide today.
Thanks to these coordinated efforts, the FHF has established itself as a model of responsible and proactive governance in the Concacaf zone. Its ongoing commitment to protecting the most vulnerable players is recognized and praised by FIFA, which sees the Federation’s work as an inspiring example for other member associations.
