Best AK-74 loadout in Black Ops 6 and Warzone

The classic AK-47 is back in Call of Duty, kind of. It has an oddly different name for some reason, but it’s not new because it has been a similar but different gun in CoD in the past.

If that’s confusing you, don’t worry, we’re confused too. The AK-74 is Black Ops 6′s AK-47, as the assault rifle of the Kalashnikov weapon system. Previously in Black Ops, the AK-74 was a submachine gun, but now it’s an AR. And thankfully, it’s strong, powerful, and a lot of fun to use.

Here’s the best loadout for the AK-74 in BO6 and Warzone.

The weapon formerly known as the AK-47 is strong in BO6, offering familiar firepower at range if you can handle its recoil. Don’t expect to push objectives and survive up close against top-tier SMGs, but if you sit back and hold down areas of a map with this build, you will flourish. Make sure you have the Gunfighter Wildcard, and let’s begin.

As is usually the case, the AK kicks like a mule in BO6, so I like to center my build around keeping it as accurate as possible for dealing big damage at long range. That’s where the Ported Compensator and Ranger Foregrip especially come in handy.

The rest of the build is up for some flexibility in your interpretation, including the optic slot, where you can use whichever sight you are most comfortable with. But this build has given us much success in BO6 so far, and it’s one we feel confident in recommending it, especially since we’ve mitigated some of its mobility issues with attachments like the Balanced Stock and Ergonomic Grip.

Another possible switch you can make is to try out the Rapid Fire attachment instead of Recoil Springs in Fire Mods, which increases the AK’s fire rate by quite a bit but also nerfs its recoil, bullet velocity, and damage range.

I’ve been having a lot of fun with this attachment-heavy build for the AK-74 in BO6. The Gunfighter Wildcard is what enables us to use as many attachments as we want, which I think the AK-74 hugely benefits from. Normally, I go with Perk Greed, but this gun needs some help.

I love Vigilance as the third perk because with the AK-74’s power, using the HUD flash to quickly turn and fire on an enemy means you can win a gunfight you might not be able to with a weapon that has less stopping power.

Otherwise, this class setup as a whole feels really good when it comes to slaying out in BO6 multiplayer. I’d recommend it to anybody who enjoys a powerful AR or missed the days of the AK-47’s greatness because it doesn’t sacrifice too much mobility in a game where movement is everything while still dealing big firepower to your foes.

Best AK-74 loadout and perks for Warzone

While the build we’ve given above is effective for Black Ops 6 multiplayer, a few tweaks should make it a great choice for Warzone. However, it might serve better as a secondary weapon due to its high recoil, which can make it difficult to control during long-distance engagements in battle royale. This would require you to use the Overkill Wildcard.

It’ll be almost unbeatable at close range, and you can use another assault rifle or even a sniper rifle as your primary weapon. Here’s an AK-74 Warzone build:

Using this build in Warzone can help you move around and engage in gunfights with ease, as it provides you with great mobility and essentially turns the AK-74 into an SMG. The Infiltrator Stock increases your aim walking speed to assist with strafing, while the Ergonomic Grip increases your ADS speed when jumping, aiming down sights, and transitioning from sprinting or diving to firing your weapon.

However, in this particular build, you’ll have to remember that with great mobility comes great recoil. So, don’t forget to manage your recoil with the Compensator and Ranger Foregrip, with the latter even giving you some bonus sprinting speed.

Since it’s Warzone, you’ll need a large magazine to spray down foes equipped with armor plates, so the Extended Mag I can come in handy. However, you can always change it to Extended Mag II if you feel the need to do so.

Here’s a list of the best perks for this AK-74 Warzone build:

• Scavenger starts you off with the maximum amount of reserve ammunition for your primary weapon while also giving you the ability to resupply ammo, cash, and armor plates from dead enemies.
• Cold-Blooded helps protect you against thermal sight users as well as players using the Tracker perk, giving you more room to maneuver the map. It also won’t trigger the Alertness perk for enemies.
• Ghost helps you stay undetected when an enemy tries to use their Radar Ping to mark you. It also masks your location on Heartbeat Sensors and Proxy Alarms.

If you’d like to use the eight-attachment build, you’ll have to equip the Gunfighter Wildcard instead of Overkill, which would limit the amount of primary weapon you can use to one. In that case, you can add the Kepler Microflex Optic for a clean sight that’s great for close-range combat scenarios and the Reinforced Barrel, which is an ideal choice for every long-distance engagement thanks to its damage range and bullet velocity bonuses. For even greater recoil reduction, you can use the Recoil Springs Fire Mod.
