Japanese retailer GEO has had immense success with their PS5 rental service, especially following Monster Hunter Wilds’ release.
Speaking to IT Media News (via VGC), the retailer, which operates the program across 400 stores, offers an eight-day rental or 15-day rental options. While Sony has no actual hand in the program, GEO was in “deep discussions” with Sony ahead of its launch.
Interestingly enough, though, the success of GEO’s program might’ve inspired PlayStation UK’s own leasing program, which similarly offers a cheaper alternative to purchasing the console outright, even allowing you to rent accessories like the PSVR 2 or DualSense Edge.
