In the Summers, a new feature film by Colombian American filmmaker Alessandra Lacorazza, starring Puerto Rican singer-songwriter/actor René (Residente) Pérez Joglar. Lacorazza’s directorial debut, In the Summers was awarded the grand jury prize and the directing award in the U.S. Dramatic Competition at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. Lovia Gyarkye (The Hollywood Reporter) describes the film as “A visual poem, an enveloping four-stanza ode to experiences shared by a man and his daughters.”
According to Cinema Tropical, screenings will run from September 20 through November 4 at various theaters across the U.S. It opens on Friday, September 20 at the IFC Center (323 Sixth Avenue, New York, New York) and at the Laemmle Royal (11523 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, California).
