Mustard Made’s The Ledge Shelf Complements Its Retro Lockers

If there’s one thing Mustard Made does exceptionally well, it’s transforming everyday storage solutions into a parade of color and joy. Founded by sister duo Becca and Jess Stern (who live on opposite ends of the world in Australia and the United Kingdom, respectively), the brand started with a simple yet personal question: What is it that you love that is uniquely you? For Becca, it was lockers – yes, the kind you’d find in a high school hallway – rescued from roadside pickups and dusty antique stores. In 2017, the sisters breathed new life into these classic storage staples, revamping them with a curated palette that took them from institutional to inspirational. No longer relegated to school corridors, these retro lockers have found a new calling as nightstands, playroom essentials, living room consoles, and more.

Fast forward seven years, and Mustard Made has just launched something new and exciting: The Ledge. While the brand has dabbled in accessories like baskets, magnetic letters, hangers, and extra shelves for their iconic lockers, The Ledge marks their second foray into standalone furniture after the original locker line. Drenched in the same vibrant hues, these wall shelves are the perfect partners for the lockers, adding an extra splash of color and functionality wherever you need it.

The Ledge, which comes in Small or Large sizes, carries the same design flair as Mustard Made’s beloved lockers. Available in all 12 signature colors – Blush, Berry, Poppy, Mustard, Butter, Sage, Olive, Navy, Ocean, Lilac, Chalk, and Slate – each shelf is crafted from study, powder-coated steel and topped off with a charming Mustard Made medallion. Can’t decide which way to hang it? Not only are there video tutorials but whether you decide right-side up or upside down, both orientations are fair game, thanks to The Ledge’s clever reversible design. Flip it with the shorter edge facing up and The Ledge will happily keep your bits and bobs in check, preventing them from taking a tumble. Turn it the other way, and you can still store whatever you fancy, but now you’ve got a handy magnetic surface for to-do list, notes, and school calendars.

Whether you’re crafting a full wall display for your book collection or just popping one above a locker for that extra bit of storage, The Ledge’s versatile design makes organizing your space feel like a fun project, not a chore. Honestly, the real dilemma here isn’t whether you need The Ledge – it’s how many rooms need one… or three!
