Jon Obi Mikel has been making headlines for his podcast recently, but nobody should forget how good he was as a player too.
The midfielder did a trial at Chelsea as a teenager (before his famously ill-fated run in with Sir Alex Ferguson) where he wowed everyone. Marcel Desailly – then a world class player at the top of his game – was able to tell the whole story on BeinSport this week. It’s really fascinating to hear the inside story on Mikel’s incredible precocious talent as a teenager.
