Clarification on Main Event Plans for WWE Bad Blood

As WWE Bad Blood approaches, there’s been some public confusion surrounding the event’s main event.

Over the weekend, USA Network ran an article indicating that CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell match would headline the show. Given the intensity of their feud and the high-profile stipulation, this seemed like a logical choice.

However, behind the scenes, things may not be as clear-cut. According to internal plans as of last week via Fightful Select, the main event was set to feature Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns in a match against the Bloodline. Filmed promos and vignettes at Georgia Tech—with Cody’s ties to the area and a school band scheduled to play him in—indicated that this would be the show closer. Roman Reigns’ connection to the area also factored into WWE’s decision.

While WWE Bad Blood is still two weeks away and plans can change, the current working plan is to have Rhodes and Reigns vs. The Bloodline close the PLE, despite other reports.
