Today we are SUPER excited to announce The Kobra Kydex Rugged Duty and The Rugged Duty LB (Light Bearing) Holsters have officially launched!
These holsters have been highly anticipated by a lot of our customers.
We have received tons of requests and questions over the past year about when we will have a Range / Duty Outside The Waistband Holster.
We only want to offer a holster when it meets our strict criteria and checks all of the boxes. It must be reliable, durable, and have been tested thoroughly.
Well we now have the answer to all of your requests!
Here’s the rundown!
Both Holsters are level 2 retention beasts, made from a thicker than usual thermoplastic.
Most holsters are made from 0.08 thick Kydex. The RDH Holsters are made with 0.125 thick thermoplastic for a tough, tank-like structure.
Both Holsters are Ambidextrous so you lefties will be happy!
They both come standard with a Level 2 Retention hood for Duty use but can easily be removed for Non-Duty range use.
Kobra Kydex recognized the need in the market for a rock solid duty holster with Level 2 retention that can stand the test of time, take a beating and still keep going.
If you are a Concealed Carrier and have Kobra Kydex Holster you know the build quality is exceptional. A lot of our Concealed Carriers also happen to be law enforcement too and have asked us about a duty holster for quite some time!
Now you can carry with the same Kobra Kydex quality On-Duty or Off-Duty!
So here are the Rugged Duty Holsters!
The Rugged Duty Holster as the name suggests is built for duty. With strong 0.125 thick Kydex this holster is extra durable. It comes with Level 2 Retention hood standard which can be removed. The Holster has adjustable retention screws, open bottom design and comes optic cut standard to accommodate Red Dot Optics!
It comes with multiple mounting holes for a variety of mounting solutions such as G-Code RTI, Safariland QLS, BladeTech Tek-Lok.
The Rugged Duty Holster can mount directly to the KMS (Kobra Mounting System) or to a BladeTech Tek-Lok, Safariland QLS Fork or G-Code RTI for quickly taking the Holster on and off the KMS.
The Rugged Duty Holster launches with the Glock 17, 19, 19x, 22, 23, 34, 35 models available!
Now let’s move on to the Rugged Duty Holster – Light Bearing
The Rugged Duty Holster Light Bearing is the same as the Rugged Duty Holster except it is built to accommodate popular Weapon Mounted Lights.
The holster is also built for duty with strong 0.125 thick thermoplastic to be extra durable. It also comes with Level 2 Retention hood standard which can be removed if desired and also has adjustable retention screws, open bottom design and comes optic cut standard to accommodate Red Dot Sights!
It also comes with multiple mounting holes for a variety of mounting solutions such as G-Code RTI, Safariland QLS, BladeTech Tek-Lok.

So what’s the KMS?
The KMS (Kobra Mounting System)
The KMS (Kobra Mounting System) is a universal holster mounting belt attachment. Designed for everyone from competition shooters to tactical duty use the KMS is built to drop the holster for a lower ride height. This will keep the holster low and away from your plate carrier or body armor. Precision screw slot placement allows for existing holster attachments to be used like the G Code RTI and Safariland QLS. Kobra Kydex created the KMS to fill a need and in response to many requests for this type of belt attachment.
