Verizon Wireless company experienced a massive nationwide outage this week, affecting cell service for millions of customers in major cities such as Chicago, Phoenix, and Los Angeles.
Users reported being unable to make calls, send texts, or access the internet, with Apple users particularly impacted and stuck in “SOS mode.”
Over 100,000 disruptions were reported on Downdetector, though the true number is believed to be much higher.
Verizon has yet to issue a detailed explanation, offering only a brief statement acknowledging the issue and promising a resolution.
