The Plus Collection from Brooklyn-based Goux Studio feels uncomplicated – it utilizes a plus-shaped extrusion in different lengths and sizes to create a line of cohesive and beautiful products. Featured in this lineup are wall-mounted nightstands, mirrors, planters, shelves, and hooks, all centered along the lines of an extruded ‘x’. Colors range from bold to muted tones, ensuring that this collection will add a little something familiar to any interior.
Citing such inspiration as Villa Tugendhat and the Barcelona Pavilion from architectural icon Mies van der Rohe, Goux Studio pulls off a coherent and modern collection. The plus is a hugely well known form, used since the 14th century in first aid to arithmetic. Similar to the ampersand, it is a simplification of the Latin ‘et’. Here, Goux Studio uses these forms to not only to offer a high quality, sturdy product, but to celebrate those that came before.
The Plus Nightstands come in two simple shelf shapes, a square and a circle. These can also be used in different places throughout the home, in a living room to display objects, or an entryway for keys and outside essentials. The complexity of this piece comes in the ease of installation, and quality of materials. Supported by a relatively delicate plus-shaped aluminum extrusion, the shelf is milled from 1-1/4 inch solid maple or rift sawn white oak, adding body to the shelf. The plus element is available in four coordinating colors: Bone, Clay, Graphite, and Oxblood.

“The process is inspired by classical architecture – refining geometry to create your own rules of composition. I wanted to come up with a universal element that can create a variety of objects. The plus shape is deceptively easy and simple yet adaptable. I like its graphic form qualities,” says Steven Gertner, Founder of Goux Studio.
Naturally a strong form, the planters from the Plus Collection are made from spun aluminum, boasting lightness and weather resistance. They come in two styles, the bowl-shaped Plus Planter Type A, shown above, and the more conical shaped Plus Planter Type B, shown below.
The Plus Mirror Type A and Plus Mirror Type B offer perfect clarity – floating away from the wall, this mirror is polished in an ultra-contemporary manner to offer a high degree of visibility and brightness. The mirrors are characterized by a plus-shaped element, held by multiple brackets in the back. This element is available in multiple colors, including hand-polished aluminum.
The Plus Shelves are designed for both storage and display. Available in solid maple or white oak, the system comes with matching pegs, to neatly delineate between book and object. At 32 inches wide, the shelves have more than enough space to hold an assortment of novels and keepsakes. You can also install them in a series across the wall, for more coverage and continuity. The thought put into the installation and machining of these pieces is obvious, ease of use top of mind.
Last but certainly not least, the Plus Hook is a practical yet beautiful wall sculpture, perfect for hanging all manner of items. The tiny yet mighty dowel pin stopper on top prevents objects from falling off, avoiding possible catastrophe.
