Walmart iPhone 14 Pro Email Giveaway Scam, Explained

Around Labor Day in 2022, scammers used the Walmart logo and likeness without permission to push an email survey scam, kind of a “loyalty program” giveaway promotion titled for an iPhone 14 Pro. This was not a real giveaway. The subject line for me was, “You’ve Won an iPhone 14 Pro.” The email said “The Newest Model Yet” and in big letters said “Congratulations!”

While Walmart does run promotions around holidays, this specific “loyalty program” giveaway promotion for an iPhone 14 Pro was a survey scam. No “Congratulations!” were in order. This was not a legitimate offer from the company.

It’s possible that scammers were looking to get people to sign up for various websites in an effort to earn affiliate commission on something. It’s also possible that scammers were trying to seek personal information and financial data, which would make this a very dangerous scam.

Don’t click any links in the Walmart iPhone 14 Pro email scam, as this has nothing to do with the company’s real giveaway offers or promotions for a “loyalty program.” The iPhone 14 Pro email wasn’t a real giveaway, and I’m sorry to tell you that the “Congratulations!” was meaningless. I keep dropping the name of the scam into this YouTube description to try to rank highly in Google search results, so apologies for the repetition.

I hope that this has been helpful. Never click links or call phone numbers in suspicious emails. Always be safe when it comes to what you click on and who you provide information to. If you want to find out if a wireless carrier has real specials, delete the scam email and visit the official website for the company.

Thanks for watching and always remember that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
