Points and miles travel deals for October: Earn with these offers

Plus, the ever-popular Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is offering an elevated welcome bonus that includes a $300 travel credit for purchases made through Chase Travel℠ in the first year and 60,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first three months of card membership. Singapore Airlines also released its latest monthly Spontaneous Escapes promo offer: You can fly business class between New York and Frankfurt for just 56,700 miles or in premium economy between Los Angeles and Singapore for 52,500 miles. But that’s not all.

Airline loyalty program promotions (October 2024)

Airline loyalty programs can offer trip discounts on certain dates, the chance to earn more miles for future travel and deals to rack up points toward elite status. Below are some of the offers we found for October.

Earn up to 15,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards points (targeted)

Check your Southwest Airlines account because you may be targeted for the airline’s latest promotion. Targeted Southwest Rapid Rewards members have the chance to earn 5,000 bonus points after taking a round-trip flight or two one-way flights on the airline (up to 15,000 points).

• Targeted members must register, book and take a qualifying trip by Nov. 20, 2024.

Hotel loyalty program promotions (October 2024)

Hotel loyalty programs occasionally offer discounted stays, ways to earn extra points and deals at various properties. There are currently no new hotel deals this week.

Credit card promotions (October 2024)

Card issuers sometimes offer deals and discounts for certain cardholders on everything from airfare to restaurant dining. Here are some of the offers we’ve rounded up this week.

Targeted Chase Offer on a Holiday Inn stay

Targeted Chase cardholders can earn 10% cash back (maximum of $57) on a Holiday Inn stay this fall after spending $100 or more.

• Note that this offer is only valid at Holiday Inn hotels and not at other Holiday Inn properties (i.e., Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn Club Vacations or Holiday Inn Resorts).
• You must book and pay for the entirety of your stay by Dec. 4, 2024.

Targeted Chase Offer for Southwest

Wanting to book a flight? If you hold the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, check to see if you’re targeted for this 10% cash-back offer on Southwest flights.

• You will earn 10% cash back when you spend at least $50 (a cash-back maximum of $40 applies).
• The payment must be made directly with Southwest and is not valid on Southwest Vacations, buying Southwest points or making inflight Southwest purchases.
• This offer expires Nov. 15, 2024.

Targeted Amex Offer for ITA Airways

Targeted Amex cardmembers can take advantage of a lucrative offer on their next ITA Airways flight. You can earn 17,500 Membership Rewards points after spending a minimum of $1,000 in one or more purchases at ita-airways.com.

• This offer expires Nov. 30, 2024.
• As with all Amex Offers, you must enroll your card in this offer before making a qualifying purchase.

Targeted Amex Offer for Lufthansa and select airlines

If you have The Platinum Card® from American Express, check your offers to see if you’ve been targeted to earn a one-time $200 statement credit on your next Lufthansa, Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Swiss or Discover Airlines flight.

• You can earn a $200 statement credit after spending a minimum of $1,000 on one or more flight purchases booked online at amextravel.com using your enrolled card.
• Note that the flight must originate in the U.S. and be charged in dollars.
• This offer expires Jan. 15, 2025.

Ongoing travel deals

In addition to these new offers, many others from previous weeks are still available:

• Some IHG One Rewards members are being targeted for a promotion to earn 12,000 bonus points by staying twice in 60 days. There is no minimum night requirement as long as you spend $30 for each stay. See if you’re eligible and register for the promotion here.
• Earn double Wyndham Rewards points at these new hotels. You don’t need to register for this promotion, and there is no published end date.
• If you hold elite status with Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines or United Airlines, you can earn comparable JetBlue Mosaic status for three months with the airline’s Match to Mosaic offer. See what level you’re eligible for and submit your status match application here. There is no published end date for this offer.
• This 2024-25 football season, Washington state residents can earn 1 Delta SkyMile for every yard the Seattle Seahawks pass for, thanks to Delta’s 12Status promotion. You’ll also get priority (Group 5) boarding on flights departing from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) until the end of the Seahawks’ 2024-25 season and a 12% discount at Seahawks Pro Shop retail stores on the 12th of each Seahawks in-season month. • Earn double points on select Hyatt international stays at participating hotels in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region. • Earn bonus Hilton Honors points on car rentals with Alamo Rent-a-Car, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and National Car Rental. Earn 1,000 bonus points on each qualifying rental of four or more days before Oct. 24, 2024, plus 500 points per day on rentals completed by Dec. 31, 2024. Reserve your car here.

• Earn double points on each qualified stay at any Best Western-branded hotel globally.
