Here’s What Jay-Z’s Attorney, Alex Spiro, Said About His Relationship With Diddy
According to US Weekly, Spiro spoke with reporters on Monday, December 16, while attending a press roundtable at Roc Nation’s New York City Offices. While there, Spiro asserted that his client “has nothing to do with Mr. Combs’ case or Mr. Combs.”
“They knew each other professionally for a number of years,” he went on to say. “Just like in all professions, people know each other. At the music awards, they support each other. If you go to the NBA All-Star game, they support each other. That’s just how professions work. There is no closer association between any of them. That’s also a matter of fiction.”
Additionally, Alex Spiro shared Jay-Z’s feelings about the sexual assault lawsuit filed against him and Diddy. Watch the lawyer’s statements below.
Per the outlet, at the press conference, Spiro also presented a number of “slides detailing alleged holes in the accuser’s story.”
“It’s obvious to everybody that Mr. Carter did not do this,” he reportedly said. “Obviously, Jay-Z did not rape a child. But what I wanna do today is just sort of walk you through some of this so that you can see the truth and you can see what happened yourselves… You can see here now that this is starting to unravel, and the truth is coming out.”

Here’s Why Alex Spiro’s Statements Were Shared Amid Jay-Z & Diddy Making Headlines
As The Shade Room previously reported, earlier this month, Jay-Z was added as a defendant in an updated sexual assault lawsuit initially filed against Diddy. Furthermore, the suit accuses Jay and Diddy of assaulting a woman when she was 13 years old. The incident is alleged to have occurred “at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in 2000.”
The suit was reportedly filed by Texas lawyer Tony Buzbee. Since then, Jay has issued his own personal statements in response to the allegations.
Additionally, Jay and Spiro addressed apparent inconsistencies in the alleged victim’s account of the incident, per The Shade Room.
Per US Weekly, the rapper has recently asked for the sexual assault lawsuit to be dismissed.
