Ammo mods have always been a critical feature in the Zombies mode of Call of Duty, and Black Ops 6 takes it to the next level with enhanced mechanics and new elemental effects.
These mods can turn the tide of battle, helping you control hordes, take down elites, or support your team.
Here’s a ONE Esports guide to all the Ammo Mods in BO6 Zombies, their effects, and how to acquire and use them effectively.
What are Ammo Mods in BO6 Zombies?
Ammo Mods are weapon enhancements that infuse your ammunition with special elemental effects, allowing your bullets to trigger unique effects, such as setting zombies ablaze, freezing them, or causing electrical chain reactions.
Each mod serves a specific purpose, making them invaluable for crowd control, taking down tough enemies, or synergizing with other gameplay mechanics. Selecting the right Ammo Mod can significantly impact your survival and success in higher rounds.

How to get Ammo Mods and use them effectively
You can enhance your Primary and Melee weapons with an Ammo Mod, adding a powerful elemental effect to your arsenal. Mods are acquired through the Arsenal Machine using Salvage, a resource earned during gameplay.
While only one Ammo Mod can be equipped per weapon at a time, you can swap to a different mod whenever needed, allowing for tactical adaptability to suit different enemies and scenarios.
Dead Wire or Cryo Freeze are great for efficient horde management in the early rounds, while Brain Rot can distract zombies and help with tougher waves as you progress.
For rapid enemy elimination, choose Napalm Burst or Shadow Rift. If your priority is boosting survivability for yourself and your team, Light Mend is the ideal choice.
Pair your Ammo Mod with the Elemental Pop Perk-a-Cola for random mod activations while shooting enemies.
