The African Union (AU) has hailed the achievements of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and has high expectations for the upcoming summit in Beijing.
Chinese President Xi Jinping committed 60 billion U.S. dollars for investment and grants for Africa during a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of FOCAC in 2015. And by some accounts, that investment has reached 100 billion U.S. dollars.
Various sectors in Africa ranging from agriculture to industry to infrastructure have benefited from that commitment so far.
