The Malaysian Inland Revenue Board, known as Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri Malaysia (LHDNM) in Malay, implemented mandatory e-invoicing for businesses starting in August 2024. Under this regulation, hotels, like other enterprises, must comply with specific invoice formats and breakdowns of charges and maintain record-keeping and security measures. The objective was to boost the government’s tax administration efficiency while eliminating the chances of tax evasion.
