1. Food for the Sol
Soon after graduating from college, Sophie wanted to improve her health and lose weight. Not wanting to give up a lot of the tasty foods they loved (especially Nic and his pasta), they began looking for low carb alternatives to wheat pasta. When they first tried heart of palm, they looked at each other with the same realization: this is the best pasta alternative yet! But they knew they could make it even better. So, they launched Food for the Sol to help those who want to eat healthy without sacrificing taste.
2. Crooked Owl Tepache
The first naturally fermented Hard Tepache brand on market featuring 3 distinct flavors that are well rounded, steeped in heritage, and offer something enjoyable for every palette preference.
3. Full of Beans
Narell experienced the health benefits of beans but struggled to incorporate them into her daily routine after moving to the US. This prompted her to find simpler ways to enjoy them. Noticing limited and overly processed plant-based protein options for breakfast, Narell wondered: How can I incorporate beans for breakfast? How about pancakes? AJ joined in, improved his athletic performance while eating more beans, and together they are on a mission to make beans a breakfast staple.
4. Gärden
Gärden started as a love story between Ghanaian immigrant Susan Sasu and Kentucky raised Dominique Sasu, who bonded over a shared passion for wellness. They created the company out of a recognition that natural herbs can improve the livelihoods of people through fun, simple, versatile plant powered blends that empower people to jumpstart their re-connection to nature.
They recently became parents to their incredible son, Solomon, and the need for non caffeinated energy options inspired their new line of plant powered coffee alternative: Gärden Super Brew.
5. Good Love Foods
GoodLove Foods was born from a passion for gluten-free, celiac-friendly food. Recognizing the need for convenient, mess-free GF staples, the founders combined 13 years of baking experience to create easy, quick, and delicious options without compromising on taste or freshness. Their frozen, artisan-crafted, ready-to-bake products offer homemade flavor at home. GoodLove aims to become a grocery staple and change perceptions of gluten-free food, providing high-quality, delicious options that happen to be gluten-free. Their mission is to offer better, safer food and a more inclusive gluten-free experience.
6. Mitts
Mitts is a company founded by a frustrated WSET Level 3 wine aficionado and his even more frustrated wife. After watching hundreds of dollars of wine glasses go down the literal drain while studying for his wine exams, the couple embarked on a journey to create a modern tool for cleaning ultra delicate stemware.
This particular oenophile was also an oral surgeon who yearned for the dexterity his surgical instruments gave him in the O.R. After a push from his wife, months of research, and dozens of prototypes, Mitts was born (in a lab, not a hospital).
7. Nowhere Bakery
Nowhere Bakery has been 10 years in the making. It began with creating healthier dessert recipes in a small model apartment in Hong Kong, which eventually grew into a dessert blog after countless hours of researching, testing, tasting, and shooting. Three failed business ventures, a round of Masterchef auditions, and years of consistently showing up for no one but herself led to the realization of her passion – baking healthy desserts.
Her career path has been a winding road, filled with many potholes and wrong turns, but her compass always steered her back to the kitchen.
She was constantly making better-for-you treats, not only for herself but also for her husband (and co-founder) Maurizio, who enjoyed them as well.
8. Tea Jams
Tea Jams is an Organic fruit Jam company that is infused with phenomenal blends of tea with 40% less sugar than your average jam and a depth of flavor that compliments everything from sweet to savory, drinks to food.
9. Vân Vân
Vân Vân was founded in 2023 with the mission of bringing the flavors of Việt Nam to kitchens worldwide.
In 2022, Thảo’s battle with a brain tumor shifted her perspective on life. After a successful surgery and recovery, she began hosting cooking pop-ups that led to a flood of customer orders.
Amidst their growing cooking ventures, Thảo and Duy envisioned a business that connected food, culture, and community. In 2023, Vân Vân was born, offering single-origin spices and herbs sourced from across Việt Nam. The company is committed to supporting local farmers by paying fair prices and bringing premium Vietnamese products to the world. Vân Vân celebrates both Vietnamese history and its founders’ immigrant journey.
It has been a long road to this point, and they are grateful to have you here.
10. Whims Delights
Leanne and Jesse, the husband-and-wife duo behind WHIMS, created the brand to revolutionize snacking. After Leanne’s autoimmune disease diagnosis, they embraced a low-sugar, plant-based lifestyle to reduce inflammation. However, they found themselves choosing between healthy but bland snacks and sugary indulgences. This led to the creation of WHIMS: chocolates that are low in sugar, gluten- and dairy-free, yet still full of flavor. Now, they offer a guilt-free way to enjoy treats without compromise.
11. For Bitter For Worse
For Bitter For Worse was inspired by a long, lively marriage and a love for celebration. After a whale-watching trip on the Salish Sea led to a rare neurological condition, Shelley, the Taste Maven, gave up alcohol. Drawing on years of cocktail expertise, she created her own non-alcoholic recipes. Jeff, the Reverse Bootlegger, developed a patent-pending process to scale her recipes. Since 2020, For Bitter For Worse has been sparking celebrations.
