The re-opening of Chinese borders to travellers for the first time since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic has been lauded as a great step to re-ignite trade and tourism between South Africa and Beijing. The first flight from Beijing touched down at the OR Tambo International Airport this morning. This has seen the first set of travellers on Air China touch down in South Africa in three years. The resumption of Air China flights has been described as momentous for economic, trade and bilateral relations between the two nations.
