As a founder, it’s easy to feel pulled in a dozen different directions. There’s always more to do, more ideas to explore, and more challenges to navigate. But making progress doesn’t have to feel overwhelming.

I find that one of the best ways to create momentum is by asking the right questions. These five simple prompts will help you focus on what truly moves your business forward—so you can take action with clarity and confidence this week.

1. What can you say YES to that you’re excited to create?

There’s power in saying yes—especially when it’s to something that energizes you. Maybe it’s an opportunity you’ve been considering, a new idea you’re ready to test, or a conversation that could open new doors.

Whatever it is, lean into it. What’s one thing you can fully commit to this week that excites you?

2. What’s one thing that’s already working that you can build on?

Too often, founders focus on what’s not working instead of doubling down on what is. Instead of reinventing the wheel, look at what’s already creating momentum. Maybe it’s a marketing channel that’s gaining traction, a sales strategy that’s converting, or a process that’s making things easier.

What’s one thing that’s working that you can amplify this week?

3. Where do you “get to” be or live one of your core values?

Your values drive your business—are you using them to guide your day-to-day decisions? Whether it’s community, innovation, sustainability, or something else entirely, look for ways to actively embody what matters most to you.

For example, if community is a core value, how can you engage with your audience or support another founder this week? If innovation drives you, how can you create space for new ideas?

Where will you intentionally lean into your values this week?

4. What’s one action you could be more excited to take—especially one you’ve been putting off because of fear or uncertainty?

Sometimes, the things we avoid the most are the ones that can move us forward the fastest. Whether it’s reaching out to a key buyer, pitching your brand, or making a big decision, hesitation keeps you stuck.

What’s one action you’ve been avoiding that you could reframe as an opportunity instead of a challenge? And what’s a resource you already have—whether it’s a mentor, a past experience, or even a tool—that could help you take the next step?

5. What will you say “No” to because it’s not a priority?

Focus isn’t just about what you do—it’s also about what you don’t do. Not everything is urgent or important, and saying no (or at least “not right now”) is essential to making measurable progress.

What’s one thing you’ll consciously deprioritize this week so you can focus on what truly matters? Maybe it’s a task that can wait, a meeting that’s not necessary, or a commitment that’s stretching you too thin.
