T. J. Holmes and Amy Robach had such a whirlwind romance that they don’t even know when they had their first date — or what day counts as their anniversary.

During the Wednesday, April 2, episode of their “Amy and T.J.” podcast, the couple took the K-1 visa test where they were asked questions about their relationship. Robach, 52, however, got stuck when asked about where her first date with Holmes, 47, took place.

“I am struggling with this,” she admitted. “I don’t know what it was because we were friends for so long, we went out for so long and everything happened so organically. I don’t remember actually saying, ‘This is a date.’”

Luckily, Holmes had the exact same response, saying, “It’s almost a trick question. We have no idea when we had a first date because for 10 years we have been going out. We have been doing that from the jump.”

He added: “So, at no point did we go out to eat and say, ‘Hey, we’re dating now. This is our first date.’ No, we just kept it flowing and it was just such an organic thing. We are a couple who has zero clue and cannot name a single restaurant, day or time that we had a first date.”

Robach pointed out that they “don’t even have an anniversary” to celebrate. “We talked about it. What day should we celebrate us? I don’t know,” she quipped, to which Holmes added, “We could just pick one. Pick them all.”

The pair found love after working together for years on GMA3. Their relationship made headlines in November 2022 when news broke about their individual divorces. Robach was married to Andrew Shue and Holmes was married to Marilee Fiebig at the time. Shue, 58, and Fiebig, 47, for their part, have since moved on by dating each other.

After taking a break from the public eye, Robach and Holmes returned to tell their story on their podcast in December 2023.

“To be clear, we were outed as being in a relationship, but everyone else thought we were being outed as adulterers — being outed as cheating on our spouses — and it wasn’t the case because the odd thing is, the day those pictures were taken and the day that article was released, we both, at that point, were in divorce proceedings,” Holmes said in the debut episode of the “Amy and T.J.” podcast.

From coworkers to more? Good Morning America cohosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes sparked plenty of questions about the status of their relationship despite both being married to other people. The ABC personalities raised eyebrows in November 2022 when they were caught getting cozy in photos published by the Daily Mail. According to the outlet, […]

Robach, meanwhile, claimed that her marriage to Shue was over before she started dating Holmes. “We had attorneys, mediators, we were in the middle of divorces,” she shared at the time. “We thought we were protecting our children and our families and we thought we had time and we thought we had a right to privacy and maybe that was foolish and silly.”

More recently, Robach and Holmes surprised Us by teasing an engagement in their future.

“It’s not an if, it’s a when. I like that. I actually appreciate that,” Robach said in December 2024 before revealing how Holmes turned her down when she asked about proposing to him. “T.J., you told me that I should never propose to you.”

Holmes seemed surprised by Robach’s statement. She continued: “Remember, we were talking about women proposing to men? But I’m just saying that if I answer this, I feel like that’d be kind of in part me saying when I would like to get married. We don’t have a date, obviously, and we haven’t even decided what we’re going to do. [But] I said I want to and I’d like to in the fall [and] that would be akin to me proposing to you.”

According to Holmes, he and Robach would be a married couple “sooner rather than later.”

“I say that based on my exclusive conversations with the bride,” he joked. “I say that because we are not trying to figure things out. We are not trying to see if we want to be together. We’re not trying to do a trial run to see if this thing can work. That’s not where we are.”

Holmes confirmed the “decision has been made” about his and Robach’s future, noting, “When we are getting married, that’s going to be a byproduct of what’s happening. And it’s coming.”

Robach added that the pair have “talked about marriage” but haven’t discussed a wedding.
