Ben Whittaker vs Liam Cameron 2 ends in yet more controversy
West Brom’s Ben Whittaker (9-0-1, 6 KOs) detonated a huge right hand bomb on Liam Cameron (23-6-1, 10 KOs), which cause the Sheffield man’s legs to wobble.
Whittaker then followed up with body shots, trapping Cameron in the corner, who was defending himself and blocking shots with a high guard and completely aware and able, yet referee Howard foster jumped in to save him from any further damage.
The reaction to the stoppage from fight fans was that it was very premature. However, pre-fight Cameron revealed that the money he was earning from this headlining rematch was going to be able to pay off the mortgage on his house.
The victor, Ben Whittaker, now trained by Andy Lee, broke down in tears at the post fight press conference, saying, “I couldn’t really enjoy it too much, because what I go through online. It didn’t really bother me too much, but even close friends, people I regard as family left me, they had a lot to say about me. It was a great time to just go back to the old Ben Whittaker. That six months out really humbled me.”
