Billy Ray Cyrus’ dating history has captured the attention of fans through the years.
Before Cyrus rose to stardom with his 1992 hit “Achy Breaky Heart,” the country singer was married to Cindy Smith from 1986 to 1991. Cyrus moved on with Kristin Lucky, with whom he welcomed son Christopher in 1992.
The next year, Billy Ray said “I do” with Tish Cyrus. The pair, who had their fair share of ups and downs through the years, welcomed three children before calling it quits for good in 2022. (Billy Ray also adopted Tish’s two children).
In October 2010, Billy Ray filed divorce papers before dropping it the next year. “I’ve dropped the divorce,” he said during an appearance on The View at the time. “I want to put my family back together … Things are the best they’ve ever been.”
Tish went on to file for divorce from Billy Ray in 2013, but Us Weekly confirmed the pair reconciled one month later. Tish and Billy Ray split for good in 2022, one year before tying the knot with Firerose. Billy Ray filed for an annulment the next year. In 2025, Billy Ray made headlines when he debuted his romance with Elizabeth Hurley.

Billy Ray was married to Smith from 1986 to 1991.

Billy Ray and Luckey welcomed son Christopher in 1992.
Tish Cyrus
Billy Ray and Tish tied the knot in 1993. After their marriage, Billy adopted Tish’s two children — Brandi and Trace — from a previous marriage. Billy Ray and Tish welcomed daughter Miley, son Braison and daughter Noah in 1992, 1994 and 2000, respectively.
Tish initially filed for divorce from Billy Ray in June 2013. “This is a personal matter and we are working to find a resolution that is in the best interest of our family,” Tish told Us in a statement in June 2013. “We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
The next month, Us confirmed Billy Ray and Tish reconciled. “We both woke up and realized we love each other and decided we want to stay together. We both went into couples therapy, something we haven’t done in 22 years of being together, and it’s brought us closer together and really opened up our communication in amazing ways,” Billy Ray’s rep said in a statement at the time.
The statement continued, “Tish also said marriage can be really hard especially after 22 years of being in entertainment. We’ve had rough times but we both realized we didn’t want to be another statistic and wanted to make it work.”
Tish refiled in 2022, claiming in her petition that they had been separated for two years. The pair settled their divorce later that year.
Firerose
Billy Ray and Firerose exchanged vows in October 2023. News broke in June 2024 that Billy Ray filed for an annulment, citing irreconcilable differences and “inappropriate marital conduct” as the reason behind the separation.
Elizabeth Hurley
Billy Ray and Hurley launched their romance in April 2025. “Happy Easter 
,” the pair captioned a joint Instagram photo of Billy Ray kissing Hurley’s cheek. (Neither Hurley nor Cyrus addressed their relationship status at the time. Cyrus’ rep had no comment when Us reached out while Hurley’s rep did not reply at the time of publication.)
