Being a frequent cruiser with MSC certainly has some valuable benefits. Like most lines, MSC Cruises offers a range of perks for being a repeat guest. In our guide to the MSC Voyagers Club program, we’re going over how to earn points, program tiers, the benefits that each level provides, and more.

Our Guide to the MSC Voyagers Club Loyalty Program (2025)

How do you sign up for MSC Cruises’ Voyagers Club program?

To join the Voyagers Club program, you must have either sailed with MSC previously or have an upcoming cruise currently booked. Anyone can join, including kids; a parent/guardian of those under 18 must fill out the form for their child.

To register online, you can create an account with MSC and complete the “Sign Up” form on the website, flagging the related checkbox to join the loyalty program. If you have an upcoming cruise booked, you can click a link in the booking confirmation to join the program. It’s also possible to register during online check-in. Guests who are booked on an upcoming cruise can register for Voyagers Club up to 72 hours prior to sailing.

If you want to sign up on board, you can apply for membership by visiting Guest Services and/or the MSC Voyagers Club Infopoint. We recommend signing up prior to your cruise, though, because if you do it on board your status will not be recognized on the current cruise (if you’ve sailed with MSC before but never signed up for the loyalty program). Don’t worry, though, you’ll still receive points for the current cruise.

If you’ve sailed with MSC in the past but never signed up for the loyalty program, do it as soon as possible. If you sailed within the last three months, you’ll receive all your points for those previous cruises. Cruises that were taken three months prior or longer ago afford you a 500-point repeater bonus.

How do you earn points in the MSC loyalty program?

Unlike many other cruise lines, the way MSC Cruises awards loyalty points is based on a number of factors. Points are based not only on the length of the cruise, but also which “experience” you choose when you book your cruise. In order from most basic to most luxurious and inclusive, MSC has four “experience” levels: Bella, Fantastica, Aurea, and MSC Yacht Club.

Here’s the points breakdown, which each passenger in the cabin receives on an individual basis.

Cruises 4 nights or shorter:

Sailings 5 to 9 nights long:

Cruises 9 nights or longer:

You can also earn points by making pre-cruise purchases on packages or services related to the cruise booking — 100 points for every $150 spent. If you update your contact details up to 72 hours prior to the cruise, that’s also a bonus 100 points. Finally, if you join the Voyagers Club loyalty program with a confirmed booking prior to the cruise, you’ll get 100 extra points for that too.

All points will show up in your account around 10 days after the cruise ends.

How many levels are in the MSC Voyagers Club program?

There are six tiers in the MSC loyalty program:

What benefits do you receive in each MSC loyalty program tier?

Welcome Membership

Welcome Membership is the tier you’re assigned when you sign up for the Voyager Club program before your first cruise. Because it’s essentially the introduction tier, there aren’t many benefits. Welcome members receive up to a 15 percent Selection Discount, which is basically a discount on select cruise departures. They’re also emailed a Voyagers Club newsletter and receive a Voyagers Club account on the MSC Cruises website. Welcome members also receive a personalized Voyagers Club luggage tag included in the e-ticket and a 10 percent discount on any spa, salon, or fitness service on board.

Classic Membership

The Classic tier includes everything the Welcome tier does, but this is where the discounts really start to kick in. On top of the spa/salon/fitness discount, Classic members get a five percent discount on cruises, a 10 percent discount on their first $50+ purchase in the MSC Logo Shop, a 20 percent discount on photos, a 10 percent discount on digital accessories, a five percent discount on internet packages, and a 50 percent discount on the F1 simulator (on ships that have it). When booking a cruise 12 or more months in advance, MSC offers another five percent Exclusives discount on the fare plus double the experience points. When booked nine to 12 months in advance, Classic guests get the extra five percent discount but not double points.

The Classic membership also includes a “Classic level” branded cruise card and access to a special welcome event with the captain.

Silver Membership

Silver Membership includes everything the Classic tier does, plus a $50 onboard credit per person if the cruise is booked 12+ months in advance. Additional discounts include a 10 percent discount on a laundry package and a 10 percent discount on the minibar. Silver members also receive a lapel pin milestone reward, a complimentary birthday cake and card, and access to a priority line if they want to switch dinner seating times.

Gold Membership

Gold members receive everything Silver does, but the MSC Logo Shop discount is upped to 15 percent and the spa, salon, and fitness discount is upped to 20 percent. The Gold tier also includes priority for the last disembarkation day and access to transfer buses (where booked). A free MSC branded shopping bag, a free one-hour spa thermal area session, use of a courtesy bathrobe and slippers, early access to theater shows, and one free F1 simulator circuit are also included for Gold members.

Diamond Membership

The Diamond tier is where things really start to get good in the MSC loyalty program. In addition to everything Gold receives, Diamond members have access to a priority line at check-in, priority luggage drop-off, a priority line for assistance at the Contact Center, priority for a free cabin upgrade where available, and late cabin checkout (based on ship operations).

This high tier also includes an invitation to the MSC Voyagers Club Diamond party, one free photo, a free bottle of water, a bottle of spumante with macarons in the cabin, an MSC Sweet Chocolate Gift, an MSC-branded beauty case, and a specialty restaurant dinner. Diamond members also have access to a pillow menu where they can choose their perfect pillow for the duration of the cruise.

Blue Diamond Membership

The highest level in the MSC Voyagers Club program is Blue Diamond. Guests in this tier receive everything Diamond does, plus a flexible arrival time on embarkation day, and access to two things normally reserved for Yacht Club guests: Yacht Club luggage drop-off and access to the Yacht Club check-in area.

Blue Diamonds also have priority access to tender boats as well as one free shuttle bus ticket (where available), a free ship behind-the-scenes tour (where available), a free Browse internet package, a private meet and greet with the captain or another ship officer, and the My Choice dining option. In addition to an MSC-branded beauty case, Blue Diamond members receive a full Blue Diamond Welcome Kit (which includes a pin, ship model, and home fragrance) on their first cruise as a Blue Diamond member.

MSC Cruises Voyagers Club Q&As

If I become eligible for the next tier during my cruise, will my additional benefits apply right away?

If you become eligible for the next membership level during your cruise, unfortunately your benefits will not kick in right away. They’ll apply to your next cruise.

Does MSC Cruises do status matching with other brands?

Yes! If you’re a loyalty member of another cruise line, hotel brand, or tour operator, you can submit a status match request with MSC Cruises. Once enrolled and approved, you’ll be placed in an equivalent MSC Cruises loyalty program tier. To submit a status match request, fill out this form. You can also ask your travel agent to submit a status match request for you.

Once approved, you’ll instantly qualify for a five percent discount on future MSC Cruises sailings.

Can my MSC loyalty program points expire and can I lose status?

Yes, Voyagers Club status and points can expire. You must sail at least once every five years to remain active in the MSC Voyagers Club loyalty program. If you let five or more years go by without sailing, you lose your entire account and status and must start over.

Key Takeaways

MSC Cruises has an extensive loyalty program, though keeping track of how you’re earning points can be confusing. The Voyages Club program does have some great perks, including discounted cruise fare and onboard services, priority access and priority lines, free gifts and stateroom treats, and invitations to special events.

However, it doesn’t quite measure up to some other lines that offer things like multiple specialty restaurant dinners, free alcoholic beverages, and even free cruises!
