Physicals: A Life-Saving Act of Love for Your Marriage

0

The last couple of weeks, Lori and I have both done what we affectionately call “The Butt Cam”. Also called a colonoscopy by some.

Not my favourite way to spend a few hours, but it’s really an amazing thing that they can remove precancerous polyps and keep you from getting one of the most common, and deadliest cancers we face.

A lot of men ignore doctors. When we’re young, we can more or less get away with that, but as we get older, an annual physical can save your life. Or keep you from pain or disability. In addition to finding problems, an annual physical sets a baseline for your body that could be helpful later.

The current guidelines call for a man to have a physical every five years under the age of fifty, and yearly after that. I’ve mentioned before that an annual physical when I was 58 found a condition that would have done significant harm to me before I had any symptoms.

This is a marriage issue because it’s rude to die on your wife when you could easily have avoided it. So man up and do it!

Anthony Joshua ‘willing to die’ for heavyweight victory

0

By Declan Taylor

ANTHONY JOSHUA says he is ‘willing to die’ in his pursuit of victory over Daniel Dubois on Saturday night.

The 34-year-old challenges his fellow Londoner for the IBF heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night and knows defeat could end his hopes of ever becoming undisputed champion.

Joshua has so far suffered three defeats in his career, including an unforgettable stoppage at the hands of underdog Andy Ruiz at Madison Square Garden, but he is now adamant he will stop at nothing against Dubois.

The 2012 Olympic champion said: “Of course there is danger against Dubois but let me tell you, this is the thing with fighting: it takes more than being strong to be a champion and to be a complete fighter.

“It’s good of course but I truly believe from what I’ve studied, read and what great people who have come before me have said – it takes more than being a physical specimen. It’s a good attribute but when you come across someone who is willing to take that from you, you’ve given them your best shot and they are able to take it, that’s when you figure out what it takes to be a champion.

“That’s what I’ve done. I’ve been to the well. He’s fighting someone who is willing to die in there – who wants to give it everything to be victorious.”

However, Joshua admits that even if he wakes up on Sunday as history’s fifth three-weight world champion, very little will change.

He added: “Do you know what’s crazy, on Sunday morning you wake up and it’s the same. Your bills still come out of your account, you’ve got to do your washing, it’s all the same.

“When I was in Saudi in the Air BnB I was just there ironing and washing after the Francis Ngannou fight. It’s mad. The only difference is that it hurts losing. It takes a few weeks to get over. Time is the best healer.

“When you win, you’re on a high and you want to experience that. When you lose, you get low and it takes time to get back balanced. After the Ngannou fight, everything was good, you’re riding that wave. Hopefully we do that on Saturday as well. I’ve given Daniel respect in order to get the victory.

“Everything I’ve done in the past, we have to draw a line under because I can’t take that with me on Saturday night. In that moment, that’s all that matters.”

Nuclear power stations can be a beautiful part of the environment. – Watts Up With That?

0

Dr Kelvin Kemm

Over the past 25 years, the world electricity demand doubled. All indications are that it will double again over the next 25 years. In fact, the time span is likely to be much shorter. The emergence of more electricity-intensive consuming technologies such as data centres is causing electricity demand to rise more steeply. Then one must add the rising demand of developing countries in which. People are moving from cooking dinner over an open fire outdoors to acquiring an electrical stove and fridge.

The image of electricity demand is a large boulder rolling down a hill, it is not stopping or slowing. In fact it is rolling faster and faster.

Without doubt fossil fuels will continue to be the backbone of world electricity generation for decades to come. But equally certain is that nuclear power is making a rapid advance across the globe. That means not only for the traditional large, industrialised countries, but also for the less developed, or much smaller countries. Rapid development of Small Modular Reactor technology is also accelerating the options for the adoption of nuclear power on a large scale. South Africa was the first country in the world to start developing a commercial Small Modular Reactor, and has continued with the work for over 30 years.

Some years ago, South Africa announced its intention to add an additional 2500 MW of new nuclear to its existing nuclear base. Early in 2024, the energy minister confirmed the acceleration of this goal. The intention, from inception, was to build a new 2400 MW coastal nuclear plant, but also to dedicate 100 MW to the development of SMR’s for inland use. In September 2024, the energy minister gave a public address in which he stated that we must go ahead on the basis of science and facts, and not be ‘fighting in the mud’ with activists who rely more on emotion than reality.

South Africa is forging ahead with a new nuclear build. This is excellent news. The current initiative is for an additional 2500 MW of nuclear, composed of a 2400 MW new large nuclear power station on the coast, plus 100 MW dedicated to Small Modular Reactor (SMR) development.

The announcement of the continuation of the project was greeted with applause by many, but as always, the anti-nuclear lobby were frothing at the mouth about all the imagined problems associated with nuclear power.

But let us digress for a moment, to consider the macro-implications of this initiative.

Building a large nuclear plant is essentially following in the footsteps of the traditional route, that being; placing a large plant on the coastline at an ideal site. The resulting power is then transmitted over some distance to consumers.

But what of SMR’s? The crucial difference with a gas-cooled SMR, which does not need a large body of water for cooling purposes, is that you can take the reactor to the consumer. You can place the rector anywhere you like. This reality enables planners to embrace. Embark on a highly flexible. Nuclear solution across the entire country.

Think about it!

Let us now make a comparison with a cell phone system. Prior to the advent of cell phones, a telephone network consisted of major exchanges, interconnected by means of long-range connections. Then cell phones arrived. The cells are something like the honeycomb of a beehive, and each cell has its own main base station antenna. Each cell handles calls within the cell.

The emergence of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) systems onto the modern scene, essentially makes a nuclear cell system a reality. One can now place a gas-cooled SMR anywhere, and it can serve its own ‘cell.’ This ‘cell’ could be a mining complex, a municipality, a collection of factories, or an agricultural area encompassing the farm, proceeding to processing, packaging, and transport. Such a ‘cell’ does not even need to be connected to the National Grid, and can be owned by a Province, Municipality, or private company.

The SMR revolution effectively means that the fundamental planning options available for the distribution of electricity have changed significantly.

A gas-cooled SMR, such as the South African HTMR-100 is walk-away-safe. The fuel cannot suffer a meltdown under any circumstances. Such an SMR emits absolutely nothing during normal operations, no solids, no liquids, no gases. The fuel is in the form of balls, the size of a tennis ball, and each ball lasts between two and three years in the reactor. So, the amount of refuelling required is extremely small, in comparison to coal, gas, or oil plants. So no continuous refuelling structure is required, such as a conveyor belt, pipeline, or railway line.

What all this means is that small nuclear plants can be safely and effectively placed in industrial areas or agricultural areas, or near an idyllic town. One of the accusations of the extremist anti-nuclear lobby has always been that nuclear reactors are ugly industrial structures which spoil beautiful scenic coastlines

With modern SMR’s we can totally remove that accusation. Since then is a bomb, it’s nothing during operation. And what’s more? Is totally silent. It can be integrated into the Vista of any setting. With this in mind, the developers of the HTMR-100 range of reactors approached Johann Koch of Johann Koch Design Architects (JKDA) with a proposal to work together to develop SMRe complexes for a range of customers.

Stratek Global originally developed the HTMR-100 for a classic industrial setting in South Africa, such as a gold-mining complex, far inland, and far away from any large water body. However, Stratek Global has been approached by potential customers from around the world, including the Middle East, Australia, a number of African countries, and also island states.

Furthermore, site factors such as the altitude, have varied from sea level to high altitude. The prevailing weather conditions have varied from hot and dry, to cold and wet, including snow.

As a result, Stratek Global is in a position to offer any type of nuclear power complex which can be designed to fit, not only any site but which can also be skilfully designed to match the scenery or cultural nature of the people and area.

Since nuclear is completely clean and green, emitting no gasses, liquids, or anything else, during normal operations, there is no reason why nuclear power stations must be viewed as ugly industrial buildings. They can be made as attractive as a hotel complex or holiday resort.

Illustrated here or four of the designs developed as a result of customer requests. They are named; the Impala Design, Kudu Design, Oryx Design, and Sable Design.

The Kudu Design was developed for an African savanna setting. It is shown here with a single reactor of 100 MW thermal output, or 35 MW electrical output.

Kudu Design: For a temperate setting near a town or agricultural cluster

A most useful aspect of the. HTMR-100 is that an SMR complex can be designed to take up to ten reactors. All ten can be run from a single control room. Obviously, building more reactors per site reduces the unit cost, because you don’t have to duplicate the administration building, the workshops, or a variety of other facilities. Furthermore, if a site is designed for, say, ten reactors they do not all have to be constructed at the same time. An owner can add reactors, in later years, as the demand rises, or as finances become available, thereby allowing for immense planning flexibility.

The Oryx Design was developed as a result of a request from the Middle East. It also features a single reactor, but can easily be adapted for more reactors.

Oryx Design: A one reactor setup for a desert region

Computer graphic showing the interior arrangement of the reactor building. Approximately 60% of the reactor is underground. Ground-level is at the bottom of the ventilation stack.

The single reactor Impala Design is a workhorse design for an industrial setting such as a South African gold mining complex. This design was developed to fit into any existing industrial complex. It illustrates that other than the actual nuclear reactor itself, in the cylindrical concrete containment vessel, the rest of the power station consists of perfectly normal industrial buildings.

Impala Design: A basic one reactor design for an existing industrial setting

The Sable Design was developed as a result of a request from a country which experiences snow conditions. The request was for a ten-reactor complex. The reactors can be added, over a period of some years, as the customer sees fit.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched two European navigation satellites tonight (Sept. 17) and then landed safely, acing its 22nd mission.

The Falcon 9 rocket, carrying two spacecraft for Europe’s Galileo satnav constellation, lifted off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida tonight at 6:50 p.m. EDT (1850 GMT).

The Falcon 9’s first stage returned to Earth safely as planned, landing at sea on the SpaceX droneship “Just Read the Instructions” about 8.5 minutes after launch. According to a SpaceX mission description, it was the 22nd liftoff and landing for this particular booster — one shy of the company’s reuse record.

Get Out of NC & East Coast Cities! ~by Elizabeth Marie

0

A few days ago, I started hearing this Rhema Word over and over again, in my spirit: “Get out of the cities!” and “Another call to get out of the cities!”

I have heard this several times from The LORD, in the last few years, and I keep Sounding the Alarm!

Now, more than ever, we can see the reason The LORD started warning His People to leave!

If The LORD has been speaking to your heart about this — then this is your confirmation! I

I understand how hard it is to uproot your lives and family — but for those who are listening to His Voice, He will direct those who are in harm’s way!

Here is one of the messages I received about Getting out of the Cities, that was posted on January 21, 2022:

“Prophetic Warning: Get Out of the Cities!“

“Get out of the cities….. for Judgment is coming, and will fall on these Places of Iniquity! (Ezekiel 9:9)

Seek My Voice, and I will lead, and guide you to where you should go.

The time is late, do not wait any longer. The warnings have gone forth, but who has listened? Only those who walk in The Spirit, and not in their own ways. These are My true Children who know My Voice. (1 Kings 19:11-12)

For those who do not know Me yet, let this be your Day of Salvation!

Call out to Me, and I will hear! Come to Me, and I will be your helper, your guide, and your salvation! (Romans 10:9) (It is later than you think!)

I prepare a place for those who are Mine… Believe in Me, and you will be counted in that number!

To My true Children, I call upon you today…. Do you hear Me? Go to My Word and I will speak clearly….. for all is written there.

The days are darker and darker….. Soon the only light will be in My Shining stars (His People). They will shine bright for Me, and they will lead many to Me.

They are a Beacon in the wilderness. They do My Work, for they are My Hand and My Feet. They are My Mouth, and proclaim My Will! ”

North Carolina & The East Coast:

While reading Katie T.’s Aatricle, about her own personal experience of how The LORD led her away from North Carolina, I was reminded of how The LORD also showed me similar things. Here is a part of what she heard:

“Flooding coming to the East Coast of America all the way to Raleigh / Durham NC”

Then The LORD also told her two Safe Zones:

  • The Smokey Mountain region
  • The Ozarks

Both of us lived in North Carolina — and at different times, we were both told to leave because of what was coming.

I posted this Warning back in 2018. Here is what I heard and posted on September 2018,

“Prophetic Warning Update: North Carolina.”

Here is the warning that I heard:

” “There will be plenty of destructions that will come. Each localized. These will wake up my children who are still sleeping.

Destruction is coming to North Carolina.

Sudden and swift.”

I then asked, “LORD, what kind of destruction is coming to North Carolina?”

I heard: “Floods and Tsunamis” “

I was also was shown that Eastern Tennessee and the western side of the Appalachian Mountains were safer places to be.

It took me almost 2 years to sell my house, and move, but The LORD led us step by step! It was not easy, but very worth the trials, tests, and effort!

I have also been shown FIRE coming to New York City — though I have not been shown the causes (or any other details), of either the flooding tsunamis or the fires.

However, there have been many other prophetic people, like Dr. Patricia, and Rev. Porter, who have had Visions of what is coming to the East Coast.

They saw that it was an asteroid that hits the ocean!

Tsunami Vision From Rev. Porter

Please note that this is NOT a warning for everyone, but only for those whom The LORD leads!

And, I am not posting this to bring fear — but once again — sound an ALARM for those who need to hear!

Remember that The LORD can speak to us in many different ways through The Word, through dreams and visions, through signs, and wonders, and through His ‘still small voice.’

However, we must be ‘plugged’ in to His Spirit so that we can see, and hear spiritually!

Let us be PRAYING for each other, as the times are getting more and more serious!

Also, please take this to The LORD for further direction, understanding, and confirmation!

“So shall they fear the name of The LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the ENEMY shall come in like a FLOOD, the Spirit of The LORD shall lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19.

“They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way; they found no city to dwell in. Hungry and thirsty their soul fainted in them. Then they cried out to The LORD in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses. And He led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city for a dwelling place. Oh, that men would give thanks to The LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.” Psalm 107:4-10, Isaiah 59:19.

After receiving many prophetic dreams and night visions, Elizabeth was led to start a blog, Latterrain333, to share more of what she is shown. She became a Christian as a teenager, however, it wasn’t until 2010, when The LORD started giving her words, dreams and visions. A few years later, she started a YouTube channel, also called ‘Latterrain333.’
